Best Buy // Job Alternative

Lately I've been hunting for either a job to replace my original job, or even a second part-time. A bit of a rant, but Best Buy has to be one of the most stress-full places I have ever worked at. At last at the current store I'm in.

Best Buy isn't a bad place to work in, unless you have a supervisor that I have to deal with on a daily basis. The poor salary per-hour and ridiculously low labor budget that they give is just isn't worth it.

With my expensive hobbies involving both cars, and computers plus bills & school tuition on top of that. It's only natural that I need a higher income which Best Buy refuses to help me with due to them wanting to meet their SOP. By the refusing to help meaning, full-time openings happen very rarely, and if it does someone will have already gotten it before you can even ask. Part time hours are risky due to the fact that you "are not guaranteed hours" and can have a completely blank schedule.

Basically its very difficult to earn hours there at my store. Not including Holiday Rush's though such as Black Friday, Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, ect. Those are the only times we get decent hours. Even as a part-timer.

But hey, that's retail. We get payed to do loads of work and get payed no where near enough for it. That's how it works. The only thing that keeps me from quitting right away are two very important things.

-Friends
-Employee Discount

Today I applied to Advance Auto Parts, which is somewhere I've been wanting to work for a while now but positions are always full, but today I somewhat got lucky. I spoke with a nice manager that said she actually needed someone, but there was a downside. She was going on vacation for about 2 weeks from today and would have to get back to me then. So lets hope all goes well there. Plus its not even 1 minute away from my house. I could practically walk there in less then 10 minutes. Very gas friendly.
