Ragnarok Online (Saturday Run)

Today I spent most of my day on RO which is something I haven't done in quite a while. Not surprisingly, the game is a bit more active with players then it usually is on weekdays. Though, the numbers aren't improving. OD2 is even taking a hit when it comes to "AFKchemists" lol

Anyway, I was up pretty early so I decided to see if I could grab Phreeoni.

no luck on any drops. =/
Spawn time is a bit harder to keep track of, but its not as bad as Gravity originally was going to have it set up.

After I decided to do some job leveling. I want to be able to make my own pots and bombs so I won't have to buy as many. Job level is only 40 which is pretty sad for a biochemist that's almost level 97. Job levels plus the Potion Creation + Potion Research skill is what effects your success rate. None of em are at a decent level.

-Bombs Away-

Job Level! So many more to go. All at a costly price lol.

Here, I went to help a few friends and the results,

Bio3 is fun, but it sure does take its tolls on a bad day.

Mid-day, I actually got a AL3 party with my scholar. Which is something I haven't done in months due to it requiring 3-8 hours of party setup, and then another 2-4 hours of actual leveling with the party.

Party went smoothly without any wipes. Got a couple nice items to that we diced for in the end.

Not too bad I guess. Not great items but I guess its better then nothing at all.

OD2 was a blast today. Most people get pissed when they DB down their but I enjoy it. Especially when they get lucky with bio3 monsters (except for Hwizard lol). Spent probably about 25~30 min clearing it up along with everyone else. Made a nice amount of job, but I lost 1% lol. I'm soo close to 97, but I always keep dying. =/

Thats about it for this post.

The current schedule for WoE and WoE SE is Wednesday 3-5pm PDT Saturday 7-9pm PDT *For WoE points System the new WoE SE castles will begin to be counted immediately on all 4 servers starting with this Wednesday 4/16/2008. For any questions regarding Ragnarok online or this update in particular please visit our Forums. Thank you Gravity Interactive, Inc.

So the patch finally arrives.

A lot of things were added in this update. More of a headache then anything else though.

All my AI's were overlapped by the original (and horrible) AI that comes from iRO directly. Luckily I had them backed up on .rar files. There was en error though. The Homunculus AI was conflicting with my Mercenary AI which was causing constant error pop ups making the game unplayable. It took around 2 hours to finally figure out what went wrong. I won't go into specifics cause I don't feel like typing another paragraph.

So anyway, I myself haven't really experienced much of the patch yet. We'll see what happens through out the week.

Highlight of the patch is the following,

Yeah, people basically died left and right once it hit the main part of prontera. This MVP is extremly hard, and nearly unkillable when its near so many people. It's probably still alive as I type this.

Ragnarok Online (MVP isn't what it used to be)

So I tried my luck with a little MVP today to see what luck might bring me. Obviously not a card but maybe an Elu or something of the sort.

Unfortunately I wasn't lucky and wasted precious bombs for an item that's not even worth a fraction of what bombs cost.

And with the new MVP time variances that's going to be implemented soon, MVP will be even more discouraging for players all across RO. MVP that will leave you waiting 3 hours to kill, and give crap items. Hurray RO for making your game better! That'll bring the new customers in.

Ragnarok Online (GM Email Response)

Just got home from work, to find that I got a reply from the iRO team. Lets see what it says.

Dear Mr. Awesome.

Your Question :

Hello,

I`ll keep the e-mail short as I`m sure you get quite a few of these.

Basically what troubles me is the declining amount of players that leave RO in such a short time leaving this game feeling empty.

I`ve been a iRO customer since open Beta 2, and I`ve learned a lot and had a bunch of great times with this game, as well as the honor to lead a great guild with wonderful guild mates (-The Fallen Angels-). This has to have been one of the most thrilling MMORPG I`ve ever played. I usually get bored of them pretty quickly too after a month or so. But this game has grasped me since Beta 2.

Now obviously, if you compare now to then, there is a huge, huge difference in population. I joined this game because of all the players it had. There was so much to do and so many people. I love competition and thats what this game had lots fo offer. It was rare to see a map empty, but now its just too common and its really horrible to see that its just getting worse.

I could go on, but lets cut to the chase. I`ve heard several rumors that this game is seeing its last breath very soon. I highly doubt this myself as its just a rumor. But is there going to be anything done to bring back players and restore RO to what it once was? Obviously not as big as when it was F2P, but at least something decent.

Chaos Prontera feels like Sakray from a year ago. You guys said you had made a decision with Sakray, and I hope its something that`ll make everyone happy and every bring a few extra players back or something. I know advertisement was mentioned, but is that really enough?

Basically I just don`t want to see a good game die and not be able to play on my characters anymore. I also don`t want the game to get boring either.

Anyway I`ll stop here.

Thanks for listening and your time,
-Chrispy

Doesn't really say much at all other then "we know the game is dying and we eventually need to do something about it".

At least they had the decency to reply pretty quick though :). Their customer service has drastically improved over the years. Lets just hope the actual game follows that same route soon.

SSBB Test

Ragnarok Online (GM email)

I went shopping around Prontera today for the first time in a while and was shocked to see how bad the population had shrunk. There are almost no shops near the fountain (center) of Prontera, and only about two venders near the tool shop. So sad to see such a great game go. It's so boring now because of how it is. I just can't get back into it. I spend my time AFK-ing hoping that the game will actually get back up on its feet.

Anyway, here is the email I sent to the GM's. Wonder what kind of responce I'll get.
(Note: I didn't proof read it at all, so expect many mistakes as I was typing fast just to get it out of the way)

Best Buy // Job Alternative

Lately I've been hunting for either a job to replace my original job, or even a second part-time. A bit of a rant, but Best Buy has to be one of the most stress-full places I have ever worked at. At last at the current store I'm in.

Best Buy isn't a bad place to work in, unless you have a supervisor that I have to deal with on a daily basis. The poor salary per-hour and ridiculously low labor budget that they give is just isn't worth it.

With my expensive hobbies involving both cars, and computers plus bills & school tuition on top of that. It's only natural that I need a higher income which Best Buy refuses to help me with due to them wanting to meet their SOP. By the refusing to help meaning, full-time openings happen very rarely, and if it does someone will have already gotten it before you can even ask. Part time hours are risky due to the fact that you "are not guaranteed hours" and can have a completely blank schedule.

Basically its very difficult to earn hours there at my store. Not including Holiday Rush's though such as Black Friday, Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, ect. Those are the only times we get decent hours. Even as a part-timer.

But hey, that's retail. We get payed to do loads of work and get payed no where near enough for it. That's how it works. The only thing that keeps me from quitting right away are two very important things.

-Friends
-Employee Discount

Today I applied to Advance Auto Parts, which is somewhere I've been wanting to work for a while now but positions are always full, but today I somewhat got lucky. I spoke with a nice manager that said she actually needed someone, but there was a downside. She was going on vacation for about 2 weeks from today and would have to get back to me then. So lets hope all goes well there. Plus its not even 1 minute away from my house. I could practically walk there in less then 10 minutes. Very gas friendly.

Ragnarok Online (Closing Night)

Helping Euld gaining his level.

Took a while for him to get used to the bio3 atmosphere, but he caught on pretty quick after a bit.

Ran into this before afk-ing. Saved Kari's biochemist and scored a Mastela Fruit.

I need to buy more bombs.

Shortly after we were attack by a few DB-ed monsters. Mainly ones from TT8 (forgot what the fire-like one is called) that renders Acid Bomb useless. I died, but managed to saves Kari's bio.

And there you go. Now we know where the DB's came from

First Entry

Testing.

Okay well most of my friends have this at work, and pretty much explained how they use it and what they use it for. So they wanted me to make one of my own, so here it is.

What exactly am I supposed to write on here other then random stuff? I have no idea. This somewhat feels like a Xanga site, but a bit more professional and-not-for-emo-people. (no offense to anyone).

So anyway, I will "try" and keep this updated as I said, and we'll see where this goes.
